Multidisciplinary Treatment of HPV Lesions

November 1998
Dr Esther Stolar & Dr Eliezer Tujansky - Directors of the Annual Course of Cryosurgery and Radiofrequency Carlos Durand Hospital, Cryosurgery Section - Buenos Aires, Argentina

The different locations of HPV lesions are grouped in: Stomatology, Dermatology, Gynecology, Urology, Proctology, etc.

A multidisciplinary team is proposed for the simultaneous treatment of the different locations that HPV lesions can have.

We consider that Cryosurgery is a method to be taken into consideration as primary treatment or in case other modalities have failed. It allows to treat large areas in one single session, without causing any anatomic nor functional failure. It does not have any activity at general level, therefore it can be reapplied when necessary. It is well tolerated and allows most HPV lesions to be treated.

The advantages over other destructive methods are emphasize..
